TRKC publishes new Thematic Research Summary on Regional and Rural Transport

A new Thematic Research Summary (TRS) on Regional and Rural Transport is now available for download from the publications section of the Transport Research Knowledge Centre (TRKC).

The new paper covers two separate but related themes:

  • Rural transport deals with transport in low-density and remote areas, with projects focusing on accessibility, e.g. in relation to public transport, as well as management of local roads.
  • Regional transport is more concerned with national and EU connectivity and cohesion. Several projects in this theme concentrate on medium-distance transport corridors in Europe, particularly on a cross-border intra- and inter-regional level.

The document can be downloaded from the TRKC publication section.

A new Thematic Research Summary on 'User Aspects' is also now available

This theme covers 'User Aspects' of transport and the ways through which users interact with transport systems, infrastructure and services for all modes. The theme's scope is technical and behaviourist, using these levers to enhance mobility and journey quality in the EU. The new Thematic Research Summary covers the results of projects ranging from the Human Machine Interface, to User Behaviour and its impact on transport infrastructure, to issues of Comfort and Safety, not forgetting influencing users towards greener and more efficient means of transport.

This TRS is also available from the TRKC thematic publications page
