Objectives:

The subject of the AMC-2 project was to develop a comprehensive mobility support system for the mobility impaired, with an adapted pilot fleet for the needs of nine types of motor dysfunction (including motion and spine).

Adaptations were made to meet the needs of people with lower and upper limb dysfunction, tetraplegia, dwarfism and wheelchair mobility.

Key Results:

The innovative adaptations of the ten vehicles were possible thanks to the project.
The project involved actively involving people with disabilities with dysfunctional movement. Real-life tests and behavioural analysis of drivers and passengers using the vehicle were provided.

Major modifications in the vehicles included steering systems, driver positions,
access devices and are closely related to the dysfunction that prevents them
driving standard vehicles.

A variant of the vehicle was also included which also allows to teach driving lessons with a disabled instructor.

All changes were made taking into account the ergonomics of the driver, no
violating traffic safety rules.
